- Cloudmen
A colloquial term for all humans that live within Saturn’s clouds. Cloudmen form the largest human civillisation.
- Mooring device
An eldritch machine that manipulates gravity in a complex way to “anchor” pockets of space around it in what is de-facto an adjustable height geostationary orbit around the planet. Their functionality allows life in the clouds to take place. Experimental, man-portable versions are being tested. Mooring devices are used by ships to stabilise the clouds around them, allowing for passage.
- Ketsal
Derogatory term for cloud-dwellers used by orbitals. The meaning is roughly similar to blowhard, though it carries much more insult.
- Klovns
The adherents of the Greater Cirkus of Saturn, a headless subculture of adaptationists. They feverishly create greneery and open spaces where they can relive a shred of what Earth once provided. Strangely associated with clowns and circuses. The subculture also acts as a de-facto union of entertainers on board most human outposts.
- Neo-alchymie
An experimental scientific field that seeks to utilise the massive energy richness of plasma to synthesise elements from more abundant ones using nuclear transmutation. Subject to massive investment and interest for obvious reasons, but currently too slow and cumbersome to properly replace ring mining.
