The Kingdom of Nova Bohemia is the greatest power known to Man in the 22nd century and controls the vast majority of inhabited Saturnian space. Led by regent Vlastislav the third, it affords a surprising amount of freedom to its subjects due to the logistical issues caused by the constant electrical storms on Saturn that disrupt the mooring devices of vessels and force the choice between rapid travel and reliable travel.
This laissez-faire approach should not be mistaken for weakness, however. The royal retinue in Mrakohrad, the capital of the empire, has enough force to obliterate any single outpost multiple times over. As such, when the time comes and it departs to levy armies for the regent, his subjects have the choice of providing the levy or annihilation. This snowballing, marauding army eventually swells to acceptable size, and like a hammer it mercilessly crushes any of its enemies.
Not all are satisfied with the status quo, however. While the subjects mostly remain content, the orange beaks provide a constant pressure on the kingdom with probing, plundering raids. The greatest threat to the kingdom, however, is the Saturnian Syndicate. Consisting of a treacherous retinue of former royal knights, they have been long pushing the kingdom to the brink of total war.
